Music Generation

Create original AI music with Suno, Google Lyria 2, Minimax, and Sonauto, plus 52 instant style presets

Generate original music from a text description. Pick a genre, a mood, and let the AI compose an instrumental track or a full song with lyrics. Kolbo gives you several music engines and a library of ready-made style presets so you can go from idea to soundtrack in seconds.

Overview

Music Generation turns a written description into a finished audio track. Use it for video soundtracks, intros and outros, social content, ads, game loops, or simply prototyping musical ideas. Every track is yours to use, including for commercial projects.

Available Engines

  • Suno v6 - the default engine. Original music in any genre, instrumental or with lyrics, with structured song sections, and the engine behind the 52 style presets. Two sibling versions ship alongside it: Suno v6 Mini (lighter) and Suno v6 Wild (more experimental). All three cost the same as the previous Suno versions.
  • Older Suno versions (v5.5, v5, v4.5+) remain selectable for reproducing earlier work, but Suno has discontinued them upstream - start new projects on v6.
  • Google Lyria 2 - high-fidelity instrumental (non-lyrical) music up to 30 seconds, optimized for short-form content where timing and quality matter most.
  • Minimax - tight loops and electronic-leaning tracks, a fast alternative for ads and social cuts.
  • Sonauto - additional music generation engine for more creative range.

Switch between engines to find the sound that fits your project.

Open the tool straight on a chosen engine with https://app.kolbo.ai/audio-tools?tool=music-generator&model=suno-v6 — swap the identifier for suno-v6-mini or suno-v6-wild to preselect those.

52 Music Presets

The Suno music tool includes 52 professionally crafted style presets that cover every major genre and mood. Instead of guessing at prompts or experimenting with tags, select a style and generate.

The preset library spans:

  • Cinematic and Epic - movie trailers, dramatic scores, heroic themes
  • Electronic and Dance - EDM, house, techno, synthwave, drum and bass
  • Lo-Fi and Chill - study beats, ambient, downtempo, jazz hop
  • Rock and Metal - classic rock, indie, heavy metal, punk
  • Pop and Commercial - radio-ready pop, corporate, upbeat advertising
  • Hip-Hop and R&B - trap, boom bap, smooth R&B, rap beats
  • World and Traditional - Latin, reggae, folk, cultural styles
  • Classical and Jazz - orchestra, piano, smooth jazz, swing

Each preset carries optimized parameters for tempo, instrumentation, mood, and production style. Use a preset as a starting point and fine-tune with your own prompt, lyrics, or duration settings.

Song Length

Suno v6 and Suno v6 Wild let you choose how long the song is - anywhere from 10 seconds to 6 minutes. Drag the slider or type an exact m:ss value.

  • Auto is the default. On Auto, Suno picks its own natural length, exactly as it always has.
  • Custom Mode only. The length control appears in Custom Mode, where you supply the lyrics yourself. It is hidden in Simple Mode because the engine does not accept a length there.
  • Suno v6 Mini ignores the length. The control is not offered on Mini - it returns its own natural length whatever you ask for.
  • Very short targets depend on the style. Suno finishes a musical phrase before it stops, so a sparse ambient prompt asked for 13 seconds comes back around 13 seconds, while a dense rock prompt asked for the same 13 seconds comes back around 42. The two converge by about 30 seconds. If you need a genuinely short clip, write a sparse prompt with fewer instruments.
  • Suno usually returns two tracks, and the requested length is not always applied to both - one may land on target while the other runs long. Check both before you pick one.

How It Works

  1. Open the Music Generation tool in Audio Tools
  2. Choose an engine (Suno, Google Lyria 2, Minimax, or Sonauto)
  3. Browse presets or describe the music you want: genre, mood, instrumentation, tempo
  4. For Suno, optionally add lyrics or keep it instrumental
  5. Leave the length on Auto, or set an exact song length (see below)
  6. Generate, preview, and regenerate until it fits
  7. Download high-quality audio for your project

Tips

  1. Be specific about genre, mood, instruments, and tempo for the closest result
  2. Start from a preset when you want a fast, reliable foundation, then refine with a custom prompt
  3. Match the engine to the job - Lyria 2 for short cinematic instrumentals, Suno for songs with vocals, Minimax for tight social loops
  4. Generate variations so you have options to choose from before committing
  5. Thin out the arrangement when you are chasing a short length - a sparse prompt stops much closer to the target than a dense one

Vision Music

Prefer not to write a prompt at all? Vision Music generates an original soundtrack directly from an image or a short video clip. Upload the visual, and the AI reads its mood, energy, and genre cues, then composes a matching track using Suno, Google Lyria, or Minimax (or auto-picks the best engine for the visual). The output is typically 15 to 30 seconds. It lives alongside the other engines in Audio Tools.
